Prof. Dluhopolskyi O.V. - Visiting Scholar at the University of Milan-Bicocca
During January-February 2025, Dr. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Milan-Bicocca (Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Economics, Psychology and Social Sciences - CISEPS). During his stay at the University of Milan-Bicocca, Prof. Dluhopolsky attended a number of seminars and workshops conducted by teachers and PhD students, consulted with Italian scientists on future joint projects and research, and on 24.02.2025 held his own seminar for CISEPS employees on the topic “Technologies of the future: from techno-optimism to techno-pessimism”. During the seminar, there were lively discussions on this interdisciplinary topic and proposals for joint research on AI and IoT.
Launch of the new ERASMUS+ SUSTED project
On December 5, 2024, Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi took part in the kick-off meeting of the ERASMUS+ project team “Education for sustainable development: synergy of competences for the recovery of Ukraine” (ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE-STRAND-1).
Teams of partners from EU universities (THUAS (Netherlands), WSEI University (Poland), Danubius University (Slovakia), IDEA Academy (Malta)) participated remotely, while the hospitable Zhytomyr and Polissya National University (Rector - Doctor of Economics, Professor Oleh Skydan) hosted teams of Ukrainian partner universities and their coordinators. During the meeting, the participants discussed expectations and vision of the first joint steps in the project implementation, agreed on a communication strategy and a quality assurance plan.

On March 2 and 9, 2024, as part of the “Project Management” course, Dr. Sc. (Economics), Prof. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi, Executive Director of the NGO “Civic Synergy”, presented the results of the AFID – “Academic Freedom and Inclusion through Digitalization” project to the students of the Master’s program “Educational Institution Management” at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatyuk National Pedagogical University. The discussion covered topics such as the application of inclusive teaching and learning methods and key tools for online communication between teachers and students.
Digital Skills and Inclusion: Insights from AFID Training
Advancing Digital Skills and Inclusive Online Education: Professors Kozyuk and Dluhopolskyi Join International AFID Erasmus+CBHE Training
Within the framework of the AFID Erasmus+CBHE project, Head of the Department of Economics and Economic Theory, Doctor of Economics, Professor V. Kozyuk and Professor of the Department of Economics and Economic Theory, Executive Director of the NGO “Civic Synergy”, Doctor of Economics O. Dluhopolskyi took part in the training “Digital Skills for Teachers and Administrative Staff” (April 8-11, 2024). The training was also attended by representatives of several Ukrainian HEIs (DTEK, Lviv Polytechnic National University, HNUE named after S. Kuznets, NTU Dnipro Polytechnic), the University of Alcalá (Spain) and the University of Lisbon (Portugal).

Exploring Inclusive Education and Digital Communication: Dr. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi Presents AFID Project Results to Master’s Students in Educational Institution Management
On May 16, 2024, as part of the Erasmus+ AFID project, Dr. Sc. (Economics), Prof. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi, Executive Director of the NGO “Civic Synergy”, presented a report at an international conference at the Ljubljana School of Business (Ljubljana, Slovenia) on the topic “NEETs Integration into Social and Economic Activity in the Context of Sustainability”. The presentation for an international audience (over 100 participants from various countries) focused on the importance of integrating NEET groups, including by involving them in online courses on various platforms to enhance their sustainable development competencies (example of AFID). As a result of the presentation, an article was published in the international journal Agora International Journal of Economical Sciences (https://univagora.ro/jour/index.php/aijes/article/view/6708).

On March 7, 2024, students and academic staff of Polissia National University met with Dr. Sc. (Economics), Prof. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi, Executive Director of the NGO “Civic Synergy”. In his speech, Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi highlighted the specifics of implementing inclusivity in university online courses, drawing on the experience of the ERASMUS+ CBHE project “AFID – Academic Freedom and Inclusion through Digitalization”.

Dissemination of information about the preliminary results of the ERASMUS+ AFID (Academic Freedom and Inclusion through Digitalization) project among Ukrainian HEIs
On February 21, 2024, as part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ AFID project, the Faculty of Economics and Management of WUNU (West Ukrainian National University) held a training for teachers “Implementation of inclusiveness in online courses”.
The training was conducted by the Executive Director of the NGO “Civic Synergy”, Dr. Sc. (Economics), Prof. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi, who spoke about the mission, purpose, goals and current results of the AFID project for university teachers.
Special attention was paid to the opportunities for students and teachers provided by the project to strengthen the inclusiveness of asynchronous online courses, the use of specific digital tools in teaching and learning.
Important thematic directions of international cooperation for the future are outlined, which are designed to contribute to the solution of problems and challenges faced by all participants of the educational process in Ukraine regarding the development of inclusive education
